As a bandleader, composer and improvising guitar & banjo player, I am passionate about all things early jazz. From Reinhardt to Ellington and Armstrong to Bix, the music I love to play is inspired by the great jazz musicians of the 1920’s and 1930’s.
Music and Meaning
Music can mean so many things. It can help define and express identity. It can be a vehicle for emotional expression. It can inspire movement and dance. It can lead one to laugh or to cry. It can carry important messages about life. In my practice as a musician, music helps me to make sense of:
- where I am from;
- where I am today;
- where I am headed.
